I’m Not Dead Yet is the name of a collection of pastel and charcoal portraits of older people, created by Norfolk based artist, Malca Schotten.
As people get older they can begin to feel that they are invisible and that their contributions to society are not recognised or appreciated.
I’m Not Dead Yet sets out to challenge that attitude and to make people – of whatever age – think again!
During the summer of 2013 Malca created a ‘pop up studio’ in the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, inside the Forum, and spent hours with her sitters, capturing their faces, stories, loves, lives and personalities on huge canvases.
You can find out more about this exhibition on the I'm Not Dead Yet blog at imnotdeadyetblog.com
Normal museum entry prices apply but why not take advantage of the “Pop in Late for One Pound” offer. Enter the museum after 3.15pm, you’ll have time to see the exhibition and be able to spend a short time in the 19th Century ex prison, hopefully this will encourage visiting again and spending more time with us.
