As part of the Walk Through Time digital trail, the museum is hosting a virtual reality experience depicting the devasting battle for the control of Norwich which was the climax of Kett's Rebellion in 1549.
The VR experience places you in the heart of the action, to discover a detailed retelling of one of the defining moments of Norfolk’s history as it would have looked and sounded. The story covers the context of the build up and the decisive action of the battle, drawing on detailed historical research for accuracy.

You will be transported back to 1549 and experience Kett's Rebellion from inside and outside the city walls.
Witness the King's men engage in hand to hand combat on Elm Hill as the story unfolds. Be immersed in the dramatic finale of the decisive Battle of Dussindale.
You remain seated at all times and the experience, which is approximately 4 minutes long, takes you to key parts of the final battle. Please be aware that, because of the subject matter, there is a recommended age limit of 12 years old to view the experience.
There is no charge to view the experience but it is an ideal opportunity to combine your viewing with a visit to the museum where normal admission fees will apply.

For the full experience, get the free-to-download app which will lead you on a walking tour of Wymondham to discover some of the key moments of the town’s varied history or to follow a GoGoHare sculpture as he becomes an animation, leading you on a ‘virtual’ treasure hunt.
More details about the app can be found on the Visit Norfolk website at https://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/inspire/Wymondham-brought-to-life.aspx.
