The museum is once again pleased to host a display of art works by local artist Pauline Bayfield in our tea room.
Pauline is a mixed media artist based in Norfolk. She finds inspiration for her paintings in the landscape and wildlife of the East Anglian countryside, as well as her favourite haunts of Cornwall and The Peak District, bringing variety to her palette.
Her paintings begin with an idea, a feeling. It can be a memory, a time or a place; the atmosphere and colours inspired by that memory. She tends not to name places in her work, but rather suggest a sense of familiarity, somewhere we have all been.
She paints in a variety of media, combining elements such as gesso, sand and ink to create dimension and texture in her paintings, which evolve from sketchbook studies, memory and imagination.
You can find out more about Pauline and see more examples of her stunning art work by visiting her website at www.paulinebayfield.co.uk
Examples of her artworks on display can be seen here and in the image above and the paintings on display are available to purchase (prices and details at the museum).
The display can be viewed during the museum's normal opening hours and there is no admission charge but it is an ideal opportunity to combine your viewing with a visit to the museum where normal admission fees will apply.
